Al-Mamoun University Explores Advanced Preservation Techniques and Seed Germination Methods

Under the patronage of University President, Prof. Samir Dawood, and directed by Dean Prof. Abdul Karim Hussein Ismail and Head of the Department, Dr. Reem Ziad, the Biology Department conducted an advanced technical workshop entitled "Techniques for the Preservation of Flora and Fauna and Exploring Seed Germination Methods."

The event was organized in partnership with the Laboratory Management Department and the Department of Media and Government Communication. Dr. Ali Sami conducted the session, providing hands-on demonstrations in the Biotechnology and Botany laboratories. The workshop encompassed preservation techniques, including taxidermy for fauna and herbarium methods for flora, as well as an examination of seed germination under diverse experimental conditions.

Faculty members Asst. Prof. Dr. Ali Hussein, Dr. Sajjad Ghalib, and Dr. Tariq Zakir oversaw the training, which engaged second and third-year undergraduate students in Biology. Notably, the workshop attracted a delegation from the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research. The delegation lauded the initiative, emphasizing its practical value and advocating for similar programs to enhance student proficiency and elevate academic standards.
