Al-Mamoun University has added a new academic achievement to its record, ranking 201st among Arab universities in the 2025 Arab University Rankings, issued by the Association of Arab Universities in cooperation with the General Secretariat of the League of Arab States and a number of specialized Arab organizations. This ranking is considered one of the most prominent academic rankings in the Arab world and is administered by the Arab University Ranking Council, established through a collaborative effort involving the Association of Arab Universities, the Union of Arab Scientific Research Councils, and the Arab League Educational, Cultural and Scientific Organization (ALECSO). The council’s primary objective is to enhance the quality of higher education and elevate the standing of Arab universities according to rigorous, transparent criteria.

The methodology underpinning this ranking is comprehensive, comprising four primary pillars evaluated on a 1,000-point scale:

1. Teaching and Learning (300 points): This pillar assesses the teaching quality, faculty-to-student ratios, the number of PhD holders, the availability of interdisciplinary programs, the integration of e-learning platforms, and the involvement of undergraduate students in scientific research initiatives.

2. Scientific Research (400 points): Focused on the quantity and quality of research output, this pillar evaluates the number of publications in international databases such as Scopus, citation metrics, the extent of international research collaborations, and the allocation of funding to scientific research endeavors.

3. Innovation, Entrepreneurship, and Creativity (150 points): This pillar examines the university’s role in fostering innovation and knowledge transfer, including the development of patents, the establishment of business incubators, and research projects aligned with industrial needs and sustainable development goals.

4. Local and International Cooperation and Community Service (150 points): This pillar measures the university’s engagement with the global academic community, including international exchange programs, joint academic initiatives, community outreach activities, and the accessibility of educational resources to the broader public.

Notably, the 2025 ranking incorporates advanced indicators in the realm of open science, aimed at promoting international collaboration and transforming scientific research outputs into innovations with tangible economic and social impact. This aligns with the growing emphasis on universities evolving into third- and fourth-generation universities, capable of driving societal progress through innovation and knowledge dissemination.

This achievement underscores Al-Mamoun University's ongoing efforts to develop its academic programs, strengthen scientific research, support innovation, and expand engagement with local and international communities. These initiatives have collectively contributed to the university's upward trajectory in both Arab and global rankings.
