About this facility
The campus plaza stretches in front of the main façade of the Al-Mamoun University College building. It holds a broad paved area, a water feature, seating steps, wooden benches and planted beds, together with a two-storey arcade overlooking the square.
The plaza is where students meet between lectures: they sit there, revise, and wait for the next class, and the route to the main entrance and to the student club runs across it.
The dean and the assistant deans inspect the student centre on periodic walkthroughs, to see what students need and to have it dealt with.
Its role
A student's day is not an unbroken run of lectures. The space where the gaps are spent is as much a part of their experience of the university as the hall.
