How to apply through Study in Iraq

To apply to Al-Mamoun University, create an account on the Study in Iraq platform and follow the steps below in order. Check every detail and document carefully, as they form the official basis for verification and selection.

  1. Create the account

    On the programme platform choose "create account" and enter:

    • the student’s name in English exactly as written in the passport;
    • father’s and grandfather’s name in English;
    • family name or surname in English;
    • date of birth from the calendar icon (year / month / day);
    • country from the drop-down list;
    • the student’s own email address — it must be a permanent one, since activation and all later correspondence go through it;
    • the student’s own phone number;
    • a password, then re-typed to confirm;
    • a 5×5 cm personal photograph with no prescription or sun glasses.
    More details — دليل التقديم — برنامج «ادرس في العراق» (opens in a new tab)
  2. Activate the account and sign in

    After pressing "register", an activation message is sent to the email address. Open the inbox, open the activation message and click the link to activate the account, then sign in with the email address and password.

    More details — دليل التقديم — برنامج «ادرس في العراق» (opens in a new tab)
  3. Enter the applicant’s information

    Under "applicant information" the details are entered in order:

    1. personal information — once saved, the remaining fields appear;
    2. certificate details and the most recent certificate obtained;
    3. passport details.
    More details — دليل التقديم — برنامج «ادرس في العراق» (opens in a new tab)
  4. Choose the university and the programme

    Under "complete the application", choose the specialisation — the list is split by study channel — then the certificate, then the university, then the college and specialisation, and press "save".

    An applicant may choose five universities across the channels: three for the full-scholarship channel (mandatory), one for the half-scholarship channel (optional) and one for the self-funded channel (optional). One channel or all of them may be chosen.

    More details — دليل التقديم — برنامج «ادرس في العراق» (opens in a new tab)
  5. Upload the attachments

    Press the document-selection icon, choose the file, then press the upload icon. The attachment then appears on the left of the window. The list of required documents, their formats and size limits are under "required documents".

    More details — دليل التقديم — برنامج «ادرس في العراق» (opens in a new tab)
  6. Submit the application

    Once the information and attachments are complete, press "submit the application" to send the form. Filling in the form is not a commitment to admit the applicant; nomination on the full-scholarship channel depends on comparison and competition against the choices entered on the form.

    More details — دليل التقديم — برنامج «ادرس في العراق» (opens in a new tab)
  7. Track the application

    Under "track my application" the state of the file can be seen at any stage, and required documents added or replaced. Email notifications are also sent as the file progresses.

    An application is set aside if the form contains material errors — a certificate that does not match, or a specialisation inconsistent with the applicant’s academic background.

  8. Transferring between universities

    Transfer to another university after nomination and the issue of the admission order is not permitted, except where a genuine reason prevents the student completing their studies at the admitting university. Foundation programmes and orientation

We help admitted students prepare for study and settle into university life. Details of language courses or orientation programmes are published here once approved.

Orientation and language of study

An introduction to the university and its study regulations at the start of the year, and the language of teaching in each field.

Colleges welcome new students at the start of the academic year with introductory sessions on the study and examination system, the academic calendar and the services available to them. The department’s student guidance staff follow each student throughout their studies.

Most courses in the medical, engineering and technical departments are taught in English; law, the humanities and administrative sciences are taught in Arabic, and some general courses are taught in Arabic in every department. A student who does not speak Arabic needs enough of it to follow these courses.

The university is also an official IELTS registration centre, for students who wish to certify their level of English.
